§ 18725 Sanitary Inspection Requirements

The law gives the health director the power to inspect places that must be checked and to stop inspecting any place that makes food unsafe.

Key Takeaways

  • •The director can inspect any place required to be inspected.
  • •If conditions make food unsafe, the director can stop inspecting that place.
  • •An unsafe establishment cannot operate without inspection.

Example

A chicken processing plant that doesn't keep its floors clean

Because the dirty conditions could make the chicken products unsafe, the director can refuse to inspect the plant and can shut it down until it fixes the problems.
