§ 12911 Pesticide Adulteration Criteria

This law says a pesticide is bad or fake if it's weaker than it claims, missing important stuff, or has things that hurt plants (except weeds) when used as directed.

Key Takeaways

  • •A pesticide can't be weaker than what it says on the label.
  • •It can't be missing important stuff that makes it work.
  • •It can't have things that hurt plants (except weeds) if you use it the right way.

Example

You buy a bug spray that says it kills 100% of ants, but it only kills half of them.

The bug spray is fake because it's not as strong as it says on the label.
