§ 9306 Petition Signature Deadline

• •You have 180 days to collect signatures for a petition and turn it in.
• •If you don’t finish and turn in the petition in time, it doesn’t count at all.
• •The 180 days start when you first file the papers mentioned in Section 9304.

A group wants to get a new law passed by collecting signatures from people in their town.

They have to collect all the signatures and turn in the petition within 180 days after they first told the town they were starting. If they take too long and miss the deadline, all their work is thrown out, and they have to start over.
