§ 7442 Committee Rules And Procedures

Key Takeaways

  • •The committee can make its own rules about firing leaders.
  • •The committee can decide how to call meetings, and these rules override old ones.
  • •The committee can choose if people can vote for others (proxies) and set the rules for it.
  • •Old rules made by the committee before the law allowed it are now official.

Example

A committee wants to change how they hold meetings.

The committee can make a new rule saying meetings can be called with just a text message, even if the old rules said they needed a formal letter. This new rule is now the one they must follow.
