§ 19341 Polling Place Staffing Requirements

This law says a precinct board must have one inspector and two judges, and you add one more inspector or judge for each extra voting machine in the polling place.

Key Takeaways

  • •Base board: 1 inspector + 2 judges.
  • •Each additional voting machine means one more inspector or judge.
  • •Appointments and pay follow the general election laws.

Example

A small town sets up three voting machines at its polling place.

The town must have the basic team of one inspector and two judges. Because there are two extra machines (beyond the first), they need to add two more people – either inspectors or judges – so the board has enough staff to watch the machines.
