§ 90402 Cal Poly Pomona Establishment

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about a special university in Los Angeles called California State Polytechnic University.
  • •The university must follow the rules and goals set in another part of the law (Section 90404).
  • •The university must also follow the rules from a special agreement (a deed) made in 1949 by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, which gave land to the university.

Example

Imagine a school gets a big piece of land to build on, but the person who gave the land says, 'You can only use this land for teaching farming and science.'

This law says the university must keep teaching the way it promised when it got the land. If the university tries to use the land for something else, like building a mall, it would be breaking the rules from the 1949 agreement.
