§ 56062 Special Education Substitute Priorities

• •Schools must first try to find a substitute teacher who has the right special education training for the class.
• •If they can't find that, they can use a substitute with any special education training.
• •If no special education substitute is available, they can use a regular substitute teacher.

The school must first look for a substitute who has the exact special education training needed. If none is available, they can pick any substitute with some special education training. If that doesn't work, they can use a regular substitute teacher.
