§ 33306 Education Department Succession

Key Takeaways

  • •The Department of Education took over all the jobs and powers of the old State Board of Education from 1921.
  • •It also took over the jobs of the people who ran the California School for the Deaf and the Blind.
  • •All the workers and their jobs from these old groups now work under the Department of Education.

Example

Imagine if your school’s principal and all the teachers moved to a new school building.

The new school now has all the same people doing the same jobs, just under a new name. That’s what happened here—the Department of Education became the new 'school' for all the old education groups.
