§ 23006 Late Report Penalties

Key Takeaways

  • •If schools or districts send their monthly reports late or in the wrong format, they get fined.
  • •The fine is based on how much money they were supposed to report for employer and employee contributions.
  • •The fine grows over time, like interest on a loan, using a set rate.

Example

A school district sends its monthly report 10 days late.

The district will have to pay a fine because the report was late. The fine is calculated using the money they were supposed to report and a set interest rate.
