§ 19531 Petition Hearing Notice Requirements

• •If most of the board members sign a petition, the higher board must set a meeting time within 30 days.
• •The higher board must tell everyone about the meeting by posting a notice with the time, place, and what the petition is about.
• •The notice must be shared the way the rules say.

A group of school board members want to change how school money is spent. Most of them sign a petition asking for this change.

The county supervisors must then set a meeting within 30 days to talk about it. They also have to put up a notice telling everyone when and where the meeting is and what it’s about.
