§ 15739 District Property Transfer Certification

• •The Controller must officially certify that the unpaid part of a funding grant is cancelled.
• •After that certification, the state board transfers ownership of any sites, equipment, or buildings bought with that grant to the district.
• •The transfer only covers things paid for with the cancelled portion of the grant.

A state grant was given to a school district to build a new library and buy computers, but some of the grant money was never spent.

The Controller tells the board that the unused grant money is cancelled. The board then transfers ownership of the library building, the land it sits on, and the computers to the school district.
