§ 15271 School Facilities Improvement Authority

• •The school or community college board can act for a facilities improvement district it created.
• •The board’s authority to act comes from this chapter and Chapter 2 (starting at § 15300).
• •The facilities improvement district is created only by the board’s exclusive power.

A school board wants to build a new science lab and needs money from a school facilities improvement district they set up.

Because the board created the facilities district, the law says the board can act for that district and follow the steps in this chapter to get the money and start the project.
