§ 29538 Obstructing Administration

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't mess with or hide important papers or things to trick the people in charge.
  • •You can't lie to the person in charge when they're checking on you or your work.
  • •Doing these things to stop them from doing their job is against the law.

Example

You run a small restaurant. An inspector comes to check if you're following food safety rules.

If you hide dirty kitchen tools or lie to the inspector about how you store food to avoid getting in trouble, you're breaking the law.
