§ 25404 Obstructing Administration

Key Takeaways

  • •You can't mess with or hide important papers or things to trick the people in charge.
  • •You can't lie to the person in charge when they're checking on you or your work.
  • •Doing these things on purpose to stop them from doing their job is against the law.

Example

You run a small restaurant. An inspector comes to check if you're following food safety rules. You show them a fake logbook that says you cleaned the kitchen every day, but you really didn't.

This is breaking the law because you changed important papers (the logbook) and lied to the inspector to hide the truth and stop them from doing their job.
