§ 25150 Commissioner Expert Evidence Use

• •The commissioner can use expert opinions that the applicant provides.
• •He can also get his own experts to investigate and certify the securities.
• •Both kinds of expert input can be used for any facts that affect the securities being offered.

A company wants to sell a new investment product and hires an engineer to write a report saying the product is safe. The commissioner can accept that report, or he can hire his own engineer to double‑check it.

If the company gives the engineer’s report, the commissioner may rely on it. If he wants a second opinion, he can ask his own engineer to look at the product and give a report too.
