§ 2611 Repudiation Retraction Rights

• •If someone says they won’t do what they promised in a deal, they can change their mind and say they will do it after all, but only until the time they were supposed to do it.
• •They can’t change their mind if the other person has already canceled the deal, made big changes, or said they’re done with it.
• •To change their mind, they have to clearly say they’ll do what they promised and give any proof the other person reasonably asks for.
• •If they change their mind, the deal is back on, but the other person can get something extra if the first person’s delay caused problems.

You hire someone to paint your house, and they say, 'I’m not doing it.'

They can say, 'Never mind, I’ll paint your house after all,' but only if you haven’t already hired someone else or told them you’re done with them. If they change their mind, they have to paint your house, but you might get a discount or extra time because they wasted your time at first.
