§ 9204 Public Entity Completion Notice

Key Takeaways

  • •If the government finishes building or fixing something (like a road or park), they can write down that it's done within 15 days.
  • •The paper they write must be signed by the government or someone working for them.
  • •The paper must have the correct date when the work was finished. If they get the date wrong by a little (up to 15 days), it's still okay.

Example

The city finishes fixing a playground on June 1st.

The city has until June 16th to write and sign a paper saying the playground is done. If they write June 5th by mistake, it's still okay as long as the real date was between May 21st and June 16th.
