§ 6505 Pre-2014 Document Validity

Key Takeaways

  • •Old rules still apply to documents or actions done before January 1, 2014.
  • •If something was okay under the old laws, it stays okay even if new laws change.
  • •This doesn’t cover 'governing documents'—those are special rules for how a community is run.

Example

In 2012, your neighborhood association made a rule about parking that followed the laws back then.

Even if the laws changed in 2014, that old parking rule is still valid because it was made the right way under the old laws.
