§ 3091 Optometrist License Denial Conditions

Key Takeaways

  • •The board can say no to giving an optometrist license if the person did something bad or unprofessional.
  • •Instead of saying no, the board can give a special license with rules, like working under supervision or not prescribing certain drugs.
  • •The person with the special license must follow all the rules for at least one year before asking to change or remove them.

Example

An optometrist who had a problem with alcohol wants to get their license.

The board might give them a special license but say they can't drink alcohol and must work under another optometrist's watch.
