§ 605 Juvenile Court Statute Suspension

• •If a kid is accused of doing something wrong, the clock for how long the court has to deal with it stops while the case is in juvenile court.
• •This means the court has more time to decide what to do about the kid's case.
• •The rule only applies while the case is still open in juvenile court.

A 16-year-old is accused of stealing a bike. Normally, the court has 1 year to deal with the case.

If the case goes to juvenile court, that 1-year clock stops. The court can take longer to decide what to do.
