§ 9344 Bond Election Assessment Payment

Key Takeaways

  • •If people vote 'no' to borrowing money (bonds), the plan changes.
  • •The money will still be collected, but in smaller pieces over time.
  • •The people in charge (the board) decide how often and how much to collect.

Example

A town wants to build a new park and asks people to vote on borrowing money to pay for it. The vote is 'no'.

Even though they can't borrow the money, the town can still collect the money needed for the park little by little, like paying in small bits instead of all at once. The town leaders decide how much and how often people need to pay.
