§ 9041 Assessment Payment By Warrant

Key Takeaways

  • •If you owe money for an assessment, you can pay with a special paper called a 'warrant' instead of cash.
  • •The warrant must be worth the same amount as what you owe, plus any extra money (interest) that has piled up.
  • •Only certain officials can take these warrants as payment—they can't be used just anywhere.

Example

You owe $1,000 for a road repair fee, and you've been charged $50 in extra fees because you paid late.

Instead of paying $1,050 in cash, you can give the official a warrant worth $1,050 to cover what you owe.
