§ 8943 Warrant Transmission To Controller

Key Takeaways

  • •If a cop or officer gets a warrant, they must send it to the Controller.
  • •The Controller has to give the officer a receipt to prove they got the warrant.
  • •This rule makes sure warrants don’t get lost or ignored.

Example

A police officer gets a warrant to search someone’s house.

The officer must hand that warrant over to the Controller right away. The Controller then gives the officer a paper saying, 'Yes, I got it.' This way, everyone knows the warrant wasn’t just thrown away or forgotten.
