§ 8655 Excess Drainage District Land

• •The board can decide if land given to the state for river or flood control work is more than needed.
• •If the land is extra, the board can say it's not needed anymore.
• •This rule was added in 1943.

Imagine a town gives land to the state to build a dam to stop floods. Later, the state only uses half of the land for the dam.

The board can check and say, 'We gave too much land, we don’t need the extra half anymore.'
