§ 8160 City Drainage Transfer Authority

• •A city can give its drainage systems (like pipes or channels) to a flood control district if most of the city leaders agree.
• •The flood control district must accept the drainage systems if they were given under the rules of Article 2.
• •This only works if the drainage system is inside both the city and the flood control district.

A city has old drainage pipes that keep flooding streets. The city leaders vote and decide to give these pipes to the flood control district to manage.

If most of the city leaders (four-fifths) agree, they can transfer the pipes to the flood control district. The district must take them if they follow the rules in Article 2.
