§ 8155 Drainage Improvement Transfers

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about moving drainage systems (like ditches or pipes that control water) to a flood control group.
  • •The drainage systems must be inside the area where the flood control group works.
  • •The systems could have been built by the county, a drainage group, or under old laws from 1903 or 1919.
  • •If a city gives its drainage systems to the flood control group, those can be moved too.

Example

A county built some big ditches to stop flooding in a neighborhood. Now, they want to give those ditches to a special flood control group to take care of them.

The law says this is okay if the ditches are in the area where the flood control group works and were built by the county or an old drainage law.
