§ 6457 Dam Application Notice Requirement

Key Takeaways

  • •If you own a dam or reservoir, you must file an application with the department.
  • •If you don't file the application, the department will send you a notice.
  • •You have 30 days after getting the notice to file the application.
  • •If you still don't file within 30 days, you can be punished.

Example

Imagine you own a big pond that holds back water (like a small dam).

The government tells you to fill out some papers about it, but you forget. They send you a letter saying you have 30 days to do it. If you ignore the letter and don’t send the papers, you could get in trouble.
