§ 6226 Dam Safety Application Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If you want to change a dam or reservoir, you must tell the government all the important details about it.
  • •The government can ask for extra information to make sure the changes are safe.
  • •You have to give them everything they ask for to check if the changes are okay.

Example

You own a big pond (reservoir) and want to make it deeper.

You have to tell the government how deep it is now, how much deeper you want to make it, and any other details they ask for. They need this to make sure your changes won’t cause problems like flooding.
