§ 2528 Water Rights Claim Process

• •If there's a fight over who gets to use water, everyone who wants some must tell the board they're joining the fight.

Imagine two farmers both want to use water from the same river for their crops.

If the state starts a process to decide who gets the water, both farmers must tell the water board, 'I want some water too!' If one farmer doesn't tell them in time, that farmer might not get any water for their crops.
