§ 13223 Regional Board Delegation Limits

Key Takeaways

  • •The regional board can give some of its jobs to its boss (executive officer), but not all jobs.
  • •The boss can't make new rules or change big plans about water quality.
  • •The boss can't stop or change orders to make someone stop polluting.
  • •The boss can't ask for big legal help unless it's already allowed in certain cases.

Example

A factory is polluting a river, and the regional board wants to make them stop.

The board can't just let its boss decide to make the factory stop. The board has to do it themselves because it's a big decision.
