§ 1100 Witness Depositions In Proceedings

This law says that in a case before a board, people can take statements from witnesses, even if they live far away, using the same rules as in regular court cases.

Key Takeaways

  • •Witnesses can give statements even if they don't live nearby.
  • •The rules for taking these statements are the same as in regular court cases.
  • •This helps boards get all the facts they need to make fair decisions.

Example

Imagine someone is having a problem with their landlord and goes to a housing board for help.

If a witness who saw the problem lives in another city, the board can still get their statement using the same rules as a regular court.
