§ 13004 Fraudulent Id Card Prohibitions

This law says you can't fake, borrow, or mess with ID cards. It also says you can't make copies of IDs that look real.

Key Takeaways

  • •Don't use someone else's ID or let them use yours.
  • •Don't change or fake an ID to make it look real.
  • •Don't make copies of IDs that could trick people.

Example

Your friend asks to borrow your driver's license to buy beer.

If you let them use your ID, you both break the law. You could get in trouble for lending it, and they could get in trouble for using a fake ID.
