§ 12807 Driver License Suspension Rules

This law says the DMV won't give or renew a driver's license if it was taken away for breaking rules. You have to wait until the punishment time is over or fix the problem.

Key Takeaways

  • •If your license is suspended, you can't get a new one until the suspension ends.
  • •If your license is revoked, you usually have to wait at least one year before getting a new one.
  • •You might have to fix the problem (like paying fines) before getting your license back.

Example

You got your license suspended for speeding too much.

You can't get a new license until your suspension time is up or you finish traffic school.
