§ 11719 Temporary Permits For Vehicle Businesses

Pending the satisfaction of the department that the applicant has met the requirements under this article, it may issue a temporary permit to any person applying for a manufacturer's, manufacturer’s branch, remanufacturer's, remanufacturer’s branch, distributor's, distributor’s branch, transporter's, or dealer’s license and special plates. The temporary permit shall permit the operation by the manufacturer, manufacturer branch, remanufacturer, remanufacturer branch, distributor, distributor branch, transporter, or dealer for a period not to exceed 120 days while the department is completing its investigation and determination of all facts relative to the qualifications of the applicant to the license and special plates. The department may cancel the temporary permit when it has determined, or has reasonable cause to believe, that the application is incorrect or incomplete or the temporary permit was issued in error. The temporary permit is invalid when canceled or when the applicant’s license has been issued or refused. (Amended by Stats. 1983, Ch. 1286, Sec. 41.)
