§ 100 Highway System Gap Monitoring

This law says the department must watch the broken or missing pieces in the state highway system to see how they affect safety and future road repairs.

Key Takeaways

  • •The department has to keep an eye on gaps in the highway system.
  • •They look for safety problems caused by those gaps.
  • •They also think about long‑term maintenance needs.

Example

A small stretch of highway is missing a bridge, causing drivers to take a dangerous detour.

The department will track that missing bridge, note any accidents or extra wear on nearby roads, and plan to fix it before bigger problems happen.
