§ 99685 Governor Grant Award Authority

• •If the commission says no to a grant, the Legislature can still say yes within a year.
• •If the Legislature doesn't say yes, the Governor can step in and say yes if the applicant follows most of the rules.
• •This only works if the Legislature hasn't already made a decision.

A school applies for a grant to build a new playground. The commission says no, but the school followed most of the rules.
