§ 99251 Operator Claim Certification Requirement

• •Truck or bus companies must get a special check from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to prove they follow safety rules.
• •This check must be done within the last 13 months before they ask for money from the state.
• •The CHP can do this check at their office or recheck within 60 days after the first check.

A trucking company wants the state to pay them for extra costs because of new rules.

Before the state gives them money, the company must show a paper from the CHP saying their trucks are safe. If they don’t have this paper from the last 13 months, they won’t get paid.
