§ 98402 Dissolution Election Notice Requirements

Key Takeaways

  • •If people want to vote on ending something (like a special district or group), they have to tell everyone about it in the newspaper.
  • •The vote can't happen too soon—it has to be at least 74 days after the first time they put the notice in the paper.
  • •The vote must happen on a normal election day, not a random day.

Example

Imagine your neighborhood has a special group that takes care of the parks, and some people want to stop this group.

They have to put a notice in the newspaper saying there will be a vote about it. The vote can't be super quick—it has to be at least 74 days after the first notice. And it has to be on a regular election day, like when people vote for other things.
