§ 98060 Transit District Election Costs

Key Takeaways

  • •If a special vote is held only about transit stuff (like buses, trains, or taxes for them), the county pays for the vote first.
  • •The county gets its money back by adding a small tax to property bills in the transit area.
  • •This extra tax shows up on the next property tax bill people get.

Example

Your town votes on whether to build a new train line.

The county pays for the vote, then adds a small fee to your property tax bill to cover the cost.
