§ 93015 Post-Consolidation Tax Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The Southern California Rapid Transit District can charge extra taxes or fees in the old San Diego County Transit District area.
  • •This extra money is only for paying off old debts or following the rules of a consolidation agreement.
  • •These extra charges are on top of the usual taxes they already collect.

Example

Imagine the old San Diego bus system had some unpaid bills before it joined a bigger transit system.

The bigger transit system can now charge extra fees in that area to pay off those old bills, even if they already collect regular taxes.
