§ 8106 Utility Service Area Limits

• •If the government already said where a utility company can or can't provide service, those rules still count.
• •The rules about service areas made before or after this law are okay if the government approved them.
• •This law doesn’t change old decisions about where utilities can work.

A water company was told by the government 10 years ago that it can only give water to houses in Town A, not Town B.

Even though this law is new, the old rule about the water company only serving Town A still stands because the government already approved it.
