§ 40183 Transit Facility Leasing Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The district can rent out its transit facilities (like bus stations or train tracks) to others.
  • •The people or groups renting can also rent parts of it to someone else if the district says it's okay.
  • •The district decides what rules and conditions apply to these rentals.
  • •Anyone can rent—cities, public agencies, or private companies.

Example

A city wants to use a train station owned by the district for a new bus service.

The district can rent the train station to the city. The city can then rent out part of the station to a private bus company if the district agrees. The district sets the rules for how this works.
