§ 3417 Pg&E Service Territory Definition

Key Takeaways

  • •This law defines the area where Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) provides service.
  • •The service area is based on the boundaries that existed when PG&E was acquired.
  • •The law started on January 1, 2021.

Example

If you live in a town where PG&E has always provided electricity, this law confirms that PG&E is still responsible for your area.

The law makes sure that PG&E’s service area stays the same as it was when they were bought, so they can’t suddenly stop serving your town.
