§ 29710 District Territory Annexation Rules

Key Takeaways

  • •This law is about adding new areas to a special service district.
  • •You can add land to a special service district if it's next to it.
  • •You can't split a city in half when adding land to a special service district.

Example

Imagine a small town that has a special service district for garbage collection. There's a neighborhood right next to the town that wants to join this garbage collection service.

The town can add this neighborhood to its garbage collection service district because it's right next to it. But if adding this neighborhood would split another city in half, it's not allowed.
