§ 17376 Annexation Protest Exclusion

• •If some people don't want their land to be part of a new area (like a district), they can say so.
• •The leaders will check if those people's land really won't get any big help from being part of the new area.
• •If the leaders agree the land won't benefit, they can say no to adding that land.
• •The people in charge of the new area must then leave that land out.

A group of farmers don't want their land to be part of a new water district because they already have their own wells.

The leaders check and see that the farmers' land won't really get better water from the new district. So, they tell the water district to leave the farmers' land out.
