§ 15953 District Director Representation

Key Takeaways

  • •Small areas without their own city government in the same county are grouped together as one big area.
  • •If a grouped area has at least 5,000 people, they get to pick one leader (director).
  • •This rule helps make sure smaller places still have a say in decisions.

Example

A rural area with a few small towns, none big enough to be a city, but together they have 6,000 people.

Even though each town is small, they all join together to count as one big group. Since they have more than 5,000 people, they get to choose one director to represent them.
