§ 15533 City Succession To Districts

Key Takeaways

  • •If a whole area becomes part of a city, the city government takes over the area's old leadership.
  • •The city gets all the area's stuff, like property and papers.
  • •The old leaders must hand everything over to the city.

Example

A small town called Greenfield becomes part of a bigger city called Bigville.

Bigville's government now runs Greenfield instead of Greenfield's old leaders. Bigville gets all of Greenfield's buildings, land, and important papers. Greenfield's old leaders have to give everything to Bigville.
