§ 13488 Special District Creation Approval

Key Takeaways

  • •If no one complains, the board can create a special district.
  • •If people complain but the board says no to their complaints, the board can still create the special district.
  • •The board can make small changes to the special district plan before approving it.

Example

A group of neighbors wants a new park in their area, but some people don’t like the idea.

If the people who don’t like the park idea complain to the board, but the board says their complaints aren’t valid, the board can still decide to make the park. They might even tweak the park plan a little before saying yes.
