§ 12132 Public Utility Employee Transfers

Key Takeaways

  • •If a district buys facilities from a company, they can hire the workers from that company without making them take a test.
  • •These workers get to skip the usual 6-month trial period.
  • •Once hired, these workers follow the same rules as other district workers.

Example

A city buys a water plant from a private company.

The city can hire the plant workers right away without testing them, and they don’t have to go through a 6-month trial period like new hires usually do.
