§ 120507 Employee Wage Deduction Authority

Key Takeaways

  • •The boss can take money out of your paycheck for union fees if you and the union agree to it.
  • •The boss can also take money out for health plans or retirement plans.
  • •If private companies can take money out for something, the boss can do it too.

Example

If you join a union at work, and the union has a deal with the boss, the boss can take union fees from your paycheck.

This means you don’t have to pay the union yourself—the boss does it for you from your pay.
